bah humbug!
Below is a list of the 21 Christmas/holiday songs I am sick of:
Let It Snow
Jingle Bells
The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Sleigh Ride
Silver Bells
Jingle Bells
Jingle Bell Rock
Feliz Navidad
Auld Lang Sine
O Christmas Tree
Rocking Around The Christmas Tree
The 12 Days Of Christmas
White Christmas
Blue Christmas
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer
Deck The Halls
Frosty The Snowman
I've survived 29 straight Christmases of hearing the same songs played ad nauseum from November 1 through December 25. It's as if the radio stations are all on some 21 song loop, which have been strategically chosen for their unusually high level of annoyance.
Maybe the guys in the white coats were right, and there is indeed something wrong with me, but I truly believe I have exceeded the number of Christmas songs one can reasonably expect to hear in one lifetime. The problem is, given the expected lifespan of a male non-smoker born in 1976, I will be subjected to approximately three gazillion more hours of these 21 songs in my lifetime. I think the only reasonable solution is to start smoking. Now.
